Job Opening: Business Assistant
The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho is seeking a Business Assistant (BA). Successful applicant will have excellent bookkeeping (QB nonprofit), grant writing, financial reporting, MS office-Excel/Word, writing and people skills. Must be a team player. The BA is accountable for effective management of resources in order to achieve established goals and to fulfill mission requirements. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the BA is responsible for providing sound financial advice to the Executive Director, the Treasurer, and Board of Directors, and accountable for ensuring accurate and timely financial and budgetary information is available to allow assessment of and adjustment to current operations. The BA performs general bookkeeping tasks, records and maintains a record of all financial transactions, inventory, permanent collections and donations. The BA prepares grant financial reports, tracks education and general operating support grants, and obtains, reviews and updates general property, liability, directors and officers insurance.
As required by the Executive Director, purchases supplies, assists with the scheduling and staffing of museum facility rentals, and supports the preparation of capital grants. Under the direction of the Executive Director, and in conjunction with the Treasurer, the BA prepares initial budget proposals, and as requested, provides advice to the finance committee and Board of Directors on the proposed final budget and prepares monthly financial reports. The BA assists the Executive Director in
developing and recording museum membership and provides reports of current and lapsed status as requested.
The BA is responsible for ensuring financial activity complies with nonprofit accounting practices,
to include compliance with 501 (c ) 3 requirements regarding charitable contributions and expenditures, taxation, and for administering financial and labor policies and procedures consistent with current law, including the Federal Disabilities Act, state and federal employment and safety laws and other applicable rules and regulations.
The BA is a part-time position with potential for becoming full-time.
