Paul Klee (1879-1940) was a Swiss-German artist. He was one of the most famous painters of the 20th century. His work was influenced by Expressionism, Cubism, and Surrealism. He was also very interested in the theory of color.

SUPPLY BOX
  • Piece of white paper
  • Black Sharpie marke
  • Watercolor set
  • Water cup
  • Paper towel
  • Brush
DRAW THE CAT

Use the Sharpie to draw a large "w" shape on your paper.
Next draw the ears,eyes and nose.

ADD DETAILS

Draw mouth, neck and whiskers. Draw a heart shape at the
bottom of the nose.

DRAW THE BIRD

Draw the little bird on the cat's head and add a moon or
sun above the bird.

ADD COLOR

Using your watercolor paint and brush, add color to your design. The black
lines drawn with Sharpie marker will not be affected by the water or paint. To create visual interest, try painting each of the main shapes of your cat a different bright color. Keep repeating this process, each time changing colors. Be sure to rinse your brush each time you change colors.
