The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho is delighted to welcome award-winning author Patti Sherlock for a book signing and discussion of her newest middle-grade novel, The Nectar Collector.
The Nectar Collector follows Alenya, a brave honeybee who must lead her colony to safety after wildfire smoke and a bear attack destroy their hive. Blending adventure, science, and environmental themes, Sherlock’s story invites readers ages 8–12 into the fascinating world of pollinators and resilience in nature.
The event pairs perfectly with TAM’s current exhibition, Art & the Animal, which showcases stunning artwork celebrating wildlife of every kind—including a featured painting of honeybees. The exhibition is generously sponsored by the Green Kids Club, whose mission centers on environmental education and wildlife conservation. Together, the exhibit and the book create a meaningful celebration of art, nature, and storytelling.
Patti Sherlock, known for her novels Letters from Wolfie, Some Fine Dog, and Four of a Kind, is an Idaho-based author, journalist, and longtime bee enthusiast. Her writing has been celebrated for combining heartwarming storytelling with thought-provoking natural themes.
Guests can meet the author, hear behind-the-scenes stories about her inspiration and research, and purchase signed copies of The Nectar Collector (12 Willows Press). Admission is free, and all ages are welcome. |
