How do I arrange a Museum tour for school children?
During school tours, students learn about art in the current exhibit, how to look at art, and how to read exhibit labeling. In addition to a guided tour of the museum, students can take part in a post-tour art lesson in our classroom. The art lesson reinforces the theme explored in the tour and gives students a hands-on opportunity to use this theme in their own work. All tours must be scheduled a minimum of two weeks in advance. For more information, please visit the ARTours page.

Does the Museum allow photography or videotaping?
Photography is not permitted in the Museum galleries. Flash photography, the use of tripods, and the use of movie or video cameras is prohibited. Photography at weddings and special events is permissible.

For press or special photography project needs, please contact the Museum Director at (208) 524-7777.

How much is my art worth?
TAM cannot perform authentications, valuations, or appraisals. You can find a certified appraiser at www.appraisers.org/find-an-appraiser or www.isa-appraisers.org/find-an-appraiser.
Auction resources such as Christie’s or Sotheby’s or online auction sites like www.ebay.com or www.artprice.com can also help you learn more about the value of your artwork.

How do I exhibit my work at the museum?
While solo exhibitions in our main galleries are small in number, artists are invited to send formal proposals including images of portfolios, artist statement, résumé including exhibition history, and artist bio to Alexa Stanger, astanger@artmuseum.org. You can also mail these materials to:

The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho
300 South Capital Ave. Idaho Falls, Idaho 83402
Attn: Alexa Stanger

Please Note:

  • Exhibition proposals are reviewed on a quarterly basis. A museum representative will contact you after we have reviewed your submission.
  • Please note that while we are happy to review your work, our exhibition schedule is planned approximately two years in advance, and is carefully balanced to present our viewers with a varied artistic program in accordance with the Museum’s mission. Therefore, we are only rarely able to accommodate unsolicited submissions for exhibitions.
  • An excellent opportunity for emerging artists to introduce themselves and their work to TAM curatorial staff is to become a Museum Artist member which provides opportunities to exhibit in group shows two to three times a year.
  • The Corridor Gallery is reserved to showcase Idaho artists. Click here for more information.

How do I donate artwork to TAM?
We appreciate the generosity of our donors and our Permanent Collection Committee reviews each piece to determine if it fits TAM's collecting mission and programming needs. Please e-mail a photograph and a description of the work and how it was acquired to Alexa Stanger at astanger@theartmuseum.org. You can also mail these materials to:
