September: Zine-Making with Artist Josh Graham
September 26th, 2026, 6 - 8 PM, $5-15 donation suggested
Join exhibiting artist Josh Graham for an evening of zine-making inspired by his artwork and creative practice. Learn how to combine drawing, collage, writing, and design into your own handmade mini-publication while exploring a fun and accessible form of self-expression.
October: Stop-Motion Movie Night
October 30th, 2026, 6 - 8:30 PM, $5-15 donation suggested
Join us for a cozy evening celebrating the art of stop-motion animation! Enjoy movie-themed snacks while we watch either Coraline or ParaNorman (cast your vote on our Instagram!), then create your own clay character as the story unfolds. Whether you're inspired by the film's imaginative worlds or simply want to sculpt while you watch, it's the perfect blend of art, movies, and fun with friends.
November: Book Binding
November 20th, 2026, 6 - 8 PM, $5-15 donation suggested
Learn the basics of hand bookbinding and create your own custom sketchbook or journal. Explore simple binding techniques while making a one-of-a-kind book that's perfect for drawing, writing, gifting or collecting ideas.
December: Stamp Carving
December 11th, 2026, 6 - 8 PM, $5-15 donation suggested
Design and carve your own reusable stamp to create custom cards, gift wrap, prints, and more. This beginner-friendly workshop introduces the basics of relief carving while encouraging creative experimentation. Hang onto your stamps and bring them with you to our clothing embellishment workshop next month!
January: Make It Your Own
January 27th, 2027, 6 - 8 PM, $5-15 donation suggested (materials to embellish available at additional cost, or bring your own)
Give new life to clothing and accessories through creative embellishment! Experiment with fabric paint, embroidery, patches, hammering flower petals and other decorative techniques to transform everyday items into unique, personalized works of art. Bring items from home or purchase blank tote bags, tees or socks.
February: Poetry Slam
February 19th, 2027, 6 - 9 PM $10 admission (poets get free admission)
Whether you're a seasoned performer or sharing your work for the first time, our annual Poetry Slam is a welcoming evening celebrating the power of the written and spoken word. Perform original or favorite poems before a live audience, compete for prizes awarded to our top performers, or simply come to listen and be inspired. Ages 13 and up are welcome.
March: Kid Creature Sculptures
March 12th, 2027, 6 - 8 PM $5-15 donation suggested
Young imaginations become three-dimensional art in this collaborative challenge! Teens will choose imaginative creature drawings created by local elementary school children and transform them into three-dimensional sculptures using a variety of art materials, celebrating creativity, interpretation, and a little bit of whimsy. Sculptures will be on display at the museum during our Young at ART exhibit.
April: Sound Jam
April 23rd, 2027, 6 - 9 PM $8 admission (performers get free admission)
Musicians, singers, and music lovers are invited to come together for an evening of collaborative music-making. Bring an instrument or simply your enthusiasm as participants of all experience levels create music together in an informal, supportive environment. Whether you want to perform, improvise, or just enjoy the energy of live music, Sound Jam is all about creativity, collaboration, and community.
