Welcome to the Young at ART Classroom Art Projects Guide—a collection of museum-worthy art experiences designed to help students create artwork that delights and inspires. These projects were selected because they are engaging, accessible, and produce display-worthy results while requiring minimal preparation and affordable materials.
Whether you're a classroom teacher, homeschool parent, after-school leader, or volunteer, you'll find projects that encourage creativity, student choice, and meaningful artistic exploration. Some lessons are designed for individual expression, while others invite students to collaborate on large-scale works of art.

Young at ART Teacher Resource & Participation Guide.These lessons are made available through our ARTworks education program, an effort to make art experiences more accessible in the classrooms of Eastern Idaho. Part of our program includes our annual Young at ART exhibit which features the art work of students ages 5 - 13 from various local schools that was created using one of the many lesson plans we have provided here.
If you would like your students to participate in the
Young at ART exhibit, please email our education coordinator, Becca Hayes, at
[email protected] before March 1st, 2027 with the name of the project your students will be displaying so we can ensure a wide variety of art on display. If another school has already claimed your project, we may suggest an alternate one.
