Help Preserve the Legacy of Roy Reynolds 

A beloved collection. A local legend. A once-in-a-generation opportunity to preserve the colorful history of Idaho Falls.

In 2007, The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho presented The River Remembers, a landmark collaboration between photographer Larry Blackwood and painter Roy Reynolds that celebrated the people, places, and stories that shaped early Idaho Falls, then known as Eagle Rock.

Following the exhibition, the collection was purchased by local philanthropist Bill Rigby and installed for public display in the O.E. Bell Building. Years later, after the building changed ownership, the collection was placed in storage, leaving its long-term future uncertain.

Today, The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho (TAM), together with friends and admirers of Roy Reynolds' work, has an extraordinary opportunity: to acquire the complete collection and preserve it within TAM's permanent collection for generations to come.

Roy Reynolds was more than an artist. He was a founding board member of The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho, served for many years as the museum's art director, and helped foster the local arts community through decades of open studio drawing sessions that welcomed artists of all ages and experience levels. His influence can still be felt throughout Eastern Idaho's artistic community today.

By bringing these thirty paintings into TAM's permanent collection, we can ensure that Roy's legacy, and the stories of early Idaho Falls that inspired this remarkable body of work, remain accessible to the community forever.

We are actively raising funds to purchase and preserve the entire collection.
