TAM'S EDUCATION CENTER
Art changes lives. So can you.
Located in the heart of downtown Idaho Falls, TAM’s Education Center will extend along South Capital Avenue adjacent to the existing building and encompass three stories of new facilities. With an elevated deck and patio, this project will enhance South Capital Park and provide transparency, emphasizing the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces along the Riverwalk. With dynamic views of the Snake River, this expansion will highlight the beauty of the museum’s existing building and location.
TAM believes in the power of art to enrich lives and shape a community. We invite you to help us build a space that will improve how we connect people who are learning about and experiencing art with improved educational classrooms, community and family activity programming space, functionality for school tours, barrier free entry, workshop and storage space, and the ability to grow and adapt to future community needs.
Education Center brings an additional 14,000 sq ft
Increased exhibition space to 16,000 sq ft
Overall sq ft increased to 22,000

TAM needs to grow with the needs of our community. The main floor will give us space to meet the increasing demand for youth and adult programs. With extra gallery space, we can showcase larger touring exhibits, and with additional studio space, we can hold multiple classes at the same time. The new and improved STEAM Interactive Kids Studio will include hands-on interdisciplinary art education and exploration experiences to promote creativity, problem-solving, and reasoning.

On the second floor, a large multipurpose classroom will allow TAM to accommodate a variety of classes, events, and gatherings, fostering a deeper connection between the museum and the community it serves. The roof patio and extra classrooms will give our patrons an incredible view of the Snake River, allowing TAM to become a central space downtown for everything from small gatherings to exclusive events for our members.

The basement will add over 3,000 sq ft of storage for our Permanent Collection, donated items, extra store stock, and other museum necessities with access by stairs and elevator.
