ARTWORKS

VIRTUAL Hands on art lessons in your classrooms

ARTworks is an Art Museum program designed to take hands-on art lessons into classrooms across the eastern Idaho region. Since starting the program, we have taken art lessons to over 600 classrooms in six school districts throughout eastern Idaho, reaching over 15,000 students.

Join us for a free virtual lesson via zoom. Students will use their own scissors, watercolor set and glue. The lesson is about 1.5 hrs. 

Weaving Anni Albers 
Drawing inspiration from the work of artist Anni Albers showcased in the 2020 TAM exhibit Woman Artists from the Museum Permanent Collection, students will learn how about color theory, pattern and weaving, and create their own unique woven paper design.

VA Anchor Standards Addressed 
AS 1: Generate and conceptualize artistic ideas and work. (VA:Cr1.2.IIa)

AS 10: Synthesize and relate knowledge and personal experiences to make art. (VA:Cn10.1.IIa) 

The Art Museum will drop off all other needed art supplies to schools in D91 &D93.Schools outside that area need to call to arrange a supply pick up or  to receive supplies by mail.

To schedule a classroom visit, please complete the Classroom Visit Request Form and return it to TAM by email.

A limited number of school-wide classroom visits are also available at no cost to underserved elementary schools and rural schools in eastern Idaho. Please contact Alexa Stanger, the Education Director at 208-524-7777 or astanger@theartmuseum.org for more information on school-wide visits.
