Mosaic Animal Paintings

Materials:
- Reference photos of animals close up
- Thick black paper
- Acrylic or tempera paint
- Reference images
- Paint brushes
Avoid Identical Artwork:
Students choose different animals and color palettes. Assist students with selecting color palettes or have pre-selected color combos to choose from.
Instructions:
- Draw animal outline onto black paper.
- Fill animal with color blocks using paint brush.
- Add white highlights.
- Paint separate paper with blended, complementary colors
- Cut out animal, paste onto background
- Mount on black cardstock
