Materials

• Construction paper
• Patterned paper
• Glue
• Scissors
• Cardstock backing

Avoid Identical Artwork
Provide images of 30–50 different houseplants, succulents, tropical plants, flowers, and cacti. Each student chooses a different plant.

Instructions

1. Select a plant reference.
2. Create a decorative flowerpot using colored paper, crayons, colored pencils etc.
3. Cut leaves and stems from colored paper, adding detail with crayons & colored pencils.
4. Add dimension by folding or curling leaves.
5. Assemble on a solid (upper half of paper) and patterned (lower half) background.

Display Tip
Arrange together to create a "Classroom Conservatory."
